St. James Lutheran Church
January 5, 2010
Present: Dave Erickson, Debi Curry, Betty Brito, Kim Bergstrand, Andrea Sprout, Jack Zawislak, Steve Dumas, Pat Sousa, Jaime Hassan, Mary Hassan, Jen Kirby, Ellen Zawislak, Jill Bowen, Mike Nadeau, Kathy Cadigan, Jill Bohrer
Devotions- The meeting began at 7pm with a prayer by Kim.
Call Committee Report – The call committee presented their report on the potential candidate for Pastor. They reported that “many of the ministries and values that are important to our Congregation are closely aligned to Pastor S’s experience and faith journey”. After much discussion, Jill Bowen made a motion that Pastor S be called to St. James as our next Pastor. Kathy seconded, all agreed.
Pastor S and his wife are to visit January 11th, to meet with Council. They will return on the 23rd for a pot luck dinner with the congregation. There will be one service on the 24th, followed by a
Congregational meeting to vote on the candidate.
2010 Budget – George Bowen presented his summary of the Special ministry funds and the proposed budget. There is a projected $5000 deficit for this year. After discussion, Steve made a motion to accept the budget as presented subject to adjustments to Pastor’s salary. Pat seconded, all agreed.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00pm
