Small Groups

Bible Study / Chrismon Class
This versatile group is creating Chrismons while discussing the Gospel of Mark.  Chrismons proclaim our Lord Jesus Christ through the use of ancient Christian symbols that date back to the origin of the Church in the first century AD. As such, these symbols can be claimed by all Christians, coming from our common heritage. Not only do these symbols reference Jesus, but they also can be used to explain the Gospel message, that Jesus Christ came to offer salvation to all people.

Christian Classics Group
They are in the midst of St. Augustine’s Confessions, and, indeed, it has been a challenging book.   Discussions have ranged from questions involving the historical autobiographical points, to theological issues, to psychology and spiritual growth.  Everyone is working together, adding individual insights to clarify the text.   This study should be completed in January.  Another book study will begin after Easter.  Contact Kim Bergstrand for more information.

Christian Parenting Group
You will find this group meeting at 10:00AM every other Sunday while the kids are in Sunday school.  They are currently reading The Five Love Languages of Children, by Gary Chapman. The role of Christian values in family relationships and how these values can be incorporated into practical day-to-day life are focus topics for discussion.  Contact Andrea Sprout for more information.

Disciples in Training
Once a week, the men in this group get together for fellowship and to discuss how they can build stronger and healthier relationships by looking at the world through the lens of the Gospel. What is the role of the Christian male in American culture and society?  Contact Steve Dumas or Wally Wildes for more information.
