Prayer Team

The Prayer Team has been established to provide resources and support for the spiritual growth of the congregation of St. James.  When you join the prayer team, you are added to an email list and will receive occassional notes asking for prayer on behalf of an individual, household, member, or friend.  Lifting your heart in prayer takes only a few moments of your day, and provides a wonderful spriritual gift to those in need.

Prayer is at the heart of the relationship between our Father and His children. As members of His Holy Family, we are strengthened and nurtured by this intimate conversation that His Son began and left for all of us to continue.

From the dawn of creation when His Word rang out across the heavens, to when the Lord Jesus walked among us and spoke, until today, when the Holy Spirit breathes and whispers to our souls; prayer has been the connection whereby Heaven and earth, Spirit and spirit, Father and child, speak to one another in the language of pure love. God has called to us from the beginning to open our mouths and hearts; to implore, praise, and examine, and to quiet ourselves that we may hear His wisdom and truth.

The Prayer Team recognizes the immense importance of this vital communication which draws us into His eternal love. We are dedicated to expanding the role that prayer plays in the daily lives of our community; by exploring prayer forms or methods for individual growth during periodic training or discussions, and by maintaining and strengthening the bonds of love within the congregation through Intercessory Prayer and the Prayer Chain.

Our vision and hope is that all members of the community of St. James embrace this wonderful gift of prayer and call upon “Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15), with a voice emboldened by love and faith.
