During our August 2010 mission trip to Honduras, Father Medence, the priest at St. Marco Episcopal Church and the pastor for several villages in the area, asked if the people of St. James would consider funding additional scholarships for the children of Chachaqualla. Father Medence explained that once a child graduates from the village school (sixth grade) they can not continue their education unless they can afford $300 per year.
