Bishop Margaret G. Payne will be keynote speaker at "A Second Helping of Feed the Woman," a one-day retreat to energize, nourish and refresh women for ministry, to be held Saturday, Sept. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Worcester, Mass.
This is "another helping" of last fall's popular retreat sponsored by the New England Women of the ELCA, the synod's official women's organization. In addition to her keynote address, Bishop Payne will lead a workshop on prayer styles - feed the soul. Other options include bible study - feed the mind; Tai Chai - refresh the body; music - refresh the soul; a workshop on the synod's mission work in Honduras - feed the hungry; a tour of religious art at the Worcester Art Museum; meditation while walking a labyrinth; and time to chat and share needlework projects and renew friendships.
Registration is $20, which includes lunch and beverages. Child care is available. Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food for the Carty Cupboard at Wesley United Methodist Church, Worcester. In addition, a special offering will be received for earthquake relief in Honduras.
