I am pleased to report that our two transition teams are in place and ready to begin the call process:
Profile Team – This group will be looking to the St. James community to help put into words the essence of the St. James community. During the next few weeks, this group will schedule times to listen to YOU. So, watch for your opportunity to be heard and your vision for St. James to be incorporated into the profile document that we will complete as part of the process. Of course, at any time, you can contact any member of the team to talk about your specific concerns, perspectives, and/or goals. On this team:
Call Team – Once the profile team has completed the St. James profile document, interested candidates will have a snapshot of the St. James community to review. Candidates who have an interest in being considered for our new pastor will be screened by the New England Synod, who will then present a recommendation. At that point, the call team will start the work of evaluating the candidate(s). Once they are satisfied that we have a good match, they will make a recommendation to the church council and a congregational meeting will be set.
On this team:
We are so blessed with a talented and involved church community; council thanks everyone who expressed an interest in serving on these teams! We will most assuredly be looking to your leadership and input as we proceed.
Pr. Dan Carlson will be joining our community as transitional pastor starting on September 27th. We will include a short bio of Pr. Carlson in the October Scroll. As always, should you have questions, please be in touch with any member of your church council or these transition teams.
