Will start with confirmand/parent meeting on 9/11 - with parent meeting
Class location 2011/2012: Conference room
TFC (youth group)
First meeting for 2011/2012 in September --> Date TBD
Jr. Youth Group: 4th-6th graders
Have kids come up with name. If they need prompting:
* Kids Unite in Faith
* Kids Unite for Christ
* Kids for Christ
* Youth for Christ
Have kids fill out cards each meeting: Name, address, phone, parent cell --> use for future reminders
Possible meeting format:
1. 6:30-6:45: Meet/greet - free time / allow for stragglers
2. 6:45-7:15: Game - to go along with (lesson) theme
3. 7:15-7:55: Re:Form (lesson) theme - discussion - supporting Scripture
4. 7:55-8:00: Prayer (circle)
5. 8:00-8:30: Snacks, game, and discuss/confirm next meeting date

* All about relationships. Reminders/phone calls. Bring friends
* 2 kids from JIF/TFC to become student leaders of the junior group

Purpose Statement --> Name (TBD): exists to expose our youth to what God is up to here: unite them, their
friends and guests in fellowship, nurture them as they grow in faith, and support them as they realize we can
honor God every day with how we live our lives.
First Meeting: Sept 24th 6:30-8:30
Kids Club
Gail has asked Barbara to work with the kids to sing at services
Offering September through mid December will be used to support/sponsor Christmas gifts for
a family together with JIF
We will give kids choice for offering for Jan through May: MLF, Heifer, combination, other?
Offering and attendance incentives - point based. Prizes individualized for winners (by class)
* Kids club attendance - 1 point
* Kids club be on time - 1 point
* Kids club bring a friend - 5 points
* Kids club bring bible - 1 point
* Kids club answer a question - 1 point
* Kids club volunteer (ie read, cleanup, etc) - 1 point
* Youth group attendance - 1 point
* Youth group bring a friend - 5 points
Gail will make up sheets for teachers to easily track on a weekly basis.
Teachers can turn into to Gail for tracking
Rally Sunday theme/activities - Scavenger hunt (Tara) - Teaming younger kids with older kids
Classes / Teachers for the 2011 -2012 school year:
* Alicia will continue with PreK/K with Caroline Whitaker and Nicola Kutz to help on a rotating
(scheduled) basis
* Katie will teach 1st / 2nd grade along with a team teacher yet TBD
* Carolyn and Jamie will team teach the 3rd/4th grade
* Tara will teach the 5th/6th grade
Teachers can see Gail for their curriculum materials. Format is: Lectionary for Fall and Spring sessions,
Basics (Church seasons and Catechism) for Winter session.
Single room model - adapted to our Spark Lectionary curriculum --> Classroom setup/logistics
Example:
* 9:55 - 10:05: Opening - pre/k - 6th grade
* 10:05 - 10:45: Pre-k/k excused to their classroom, all others move to Balloon room
* 10:05 - 10:20: Break out to 1st / 2nd, 3rd / 4th and 5th / 6th for worksheets - separate tables
o 10:20 - 10:35: 3 stations for different activities - kids decide which to participate in
o 10:35 - 10:45: 1st - 6th grades - group discussion or drama based on lesson
* 10:45 - 10:55: All back for group closing
Each 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th grade teacher will oversee/assist their respective classes for the worksheet
and head up one of the tables for the activity portion (game, craft, etc)
Expected student breakdown (materials ordered):
* PreK (4): 3
* Kindergarten: 4 Total: 7
* First: 7
* Second: 4 Total: 11
* Third: 4
* Fourth: 5 Total: 9
* Fifth: 4
* Sixth: 3 Total: 7

Other Youth activities
Acolyte training - September
Safe church instruction - To be developed and presented by Sheri. All volunteer and chaperones who
intend to work with youth will be required to attend. Anyone who cannot make the 18th can see Sheri.
CORI checks required on any adult who will volunteer or chaperone youth.
Hammonasett - 9 youth and 3 chaperones to attend --> 9/9 - 9/11
Action items: Create a youth volunteer directory (phone numbers and email addresses) --> Gail
Arrange Acolyte training --> Gail to organize with Carolyn and Jamie
Notice in Scroll for Safe Church training for all youth volunteers
