Family Faith Formation-Sundays during the school year at 10 am
Family Faith Formation is our weekly Sunday morning learning time for children and their parents. We learn Bible stories through drama, play, and cooperative activities. The stories come to life as we explore them together.
Confirmation Classes
Confirmation classes are held every Sunday at 10:00 am between the contemporary and traditional service. Confirmation is a two year program open to students in grades 7 and 8. The current curriculum teaches Small Catechism, the study of other faiths, and the Old and New Testaments. First Communion
Instruction for First Communion is available for children of any age upon the request of the parents. Classes are led by the Pastor and parents are encouraged to participate. Communion in the Lutheran church is a sacramental event and signifies a deeper connection with God.
St. James Endowment The Endowment Fund was established on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the church. The fund allows St. James to more effectively use the funds it currently has in a variety of accounts, and to make more transparent the causes that members may desire to support. The Fund is governed by Bylaws and overseen by an Endowment Committee. It is a nod to the future of this congregation.
Live Streaming Worship Live streaming worship has expanded the reach of our worship services, allowing members who can not attend in person to participate, increasing engagement and outreach. The services are archived so that people can worship at their convenience. While live streaming was a response to the Covid pandemic, we have learned that in these complex times, people need flexibility in worshipping. Our Live stream population is growing. Worship is streamed on ZOOM, FaceBook and You Tube LIVE

What keeps me coming back to St. James is the feeling of family. I am an almost 60 year member who grew up in this church. I have experienced all of the changes that have occurred during this time. We have had four different long term pastors with some interim pastors along the way. They have come and gone, but it is the congregation that has remained constant with new members being welcomed into our church family along the way. At St. James, everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the growth of 0ur shared ministries in one way or another. " CF
